Literature Text

People think I'm happy.
Laughter fills my throat,
But tears fill my soul.
People think I'm happy,
Because they don't think about me at all.
They don't see me,
What I am,
What I'm capable of.

I walk down a hallway,
A thousand faces all around.
They see a shape,
Another face in the crowd.
I walk down a hallway,
A thousand eyes on either side,
Not one of them open.

I'm laughing on the outside,
But my heart is bleeding.
My soul is crying.
No one sees me.
They just see a shadow moving by.

But all it takes is one.
One person,
One pair of eyes,
One soul,
To see me,
And I'm complete.
I'll be at peace.

Don't look through me.
The first poem I ever wrote. I wasn't sure whether or not I wanted to post this one, but I have now, so...

If you like it and want to read more, I have another poem on this site, but I think I posted it at a bad time, because it got buried, although I'm thinking of re-uploading it. Anyway, hope you enjoy.

Though it has been 10 years, I am glad you posted it. Did you ever upload the one you mention in your comments? I'd like to see it.
